With a geeky black color base, Nomi mahjong redesigned the traditional mahjong tiles to appear affable and high-tech-ish. Combining the traditional Chinese table game with Nomi, which is the warmest AI tide brand in the human world, gives the traditional national treasure mahjong a distinctive technological fashion. Inspired by the Nio intelligent assistant Nomi and the Nio brand color scheme, the design incorporates NOMI of various forms into the tiles.

Design Challenge
It’s challenging to fit in with the NIO design philosophy. Therefore, through combining the sense of technological intelligence and affinity, the design aims to enhance brand recognition and meet the needs of target consumers.
Project Duration
Opening of the project in 2019/6, first light offering in 2021/5.
Operation Flow
The storage box is portable and can quickly store mahjong tiles because of its sliding lid design.
Research
In China, Mahjong is a popular traditional table game. This innovative model of Mahjong card pattern integrates a NOMI intelligent AI assistant and the color of NIO automobile. 1 Dot is in the shape of NOMI, and Bamboo tiles are evolved from the the letter I in NOMI.
Inspiration
Inspired by the NIO intelligent assistant NOMI and the NIO brand color scheme, the design incorporates NOMI of various forms into the tiles. The blue color scheme derives from NIO brand color, providing a high contrast visual effect and creating a tech atmosphere through the contrasting color of black and blue.
Project Overview
Nomi Mahjong Game has been a Bronze winner in the Toys, Games and Hobby Products Design award category in the year 2021 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition. The Bronze A' Design Award is given to outstanding designs that showcase a high degree of creativity and practicality. It recognizes the dedication and skill of designers who produce work that stands out for its thoughtful development and innovative use of materials and technology. These designs are acknowledged for their professional execution and potential to influence industry standards positively. Winning this award highlights the designer's ability to blend form and function effectively, offering solutions that enhance people's lives and wellbeing.
