Kintsugi Ferrari Red piece from Egg Vessels Collection is a unique, one of the kind piece primarily inspired by the expressive brushstrokes of abstract expressionism and the history of the automobile. After an accident, the piece has matured and received another meaning by being fully restored by using Kintsugi where the cracked pieces were put back together and filled with gold. This unique process gave the art piece complex fresh beauty and simplicity. It gained the maturity of something once broken, yet alive again.

Unique Properties
Each Vessel is divided into two separate pieces and allowing the possibilities of: Mobile decoration: changing the decor by turning the bottom or a top part of the object. Mix and match: choosing between different collections and easy assembling of separate pieces. Art piece with an use: the object can be disassembled to a bowl or container. SImple design: compact design ergonomic in transportation, easy access to the inside of the vessel, light self carrying.

Production Technology
The idea of the Egg Vessels decoration objects was to create porcelain objects with two functions useful and decorative. By using classical decoration techniques rich in gold and platinum, and new design idea of the Extra function of mobile decoration that gives it the opportunity for assembling them in many different variations controlled by the user I recreate traditional into the new design form. The owner of the objects can decide on the final look of the design of the vessels and how they wish to view them by assembling both of the parts.
Design Challenge
The challenge in the design was to technically create two parts fitting perfectly and avoiding deformations while hight temperature porcelain firings that are reaching up to 1300 celcius degrees. There were few failures with deformed objects after the first hight temperature firings but this was corrected by adjusting casting and drying processes which are crucial in the whole line of porcelain production processes.
Project Duration
The project started in 2017 in Meissen GmbH and continued through 2018 and 2019 in Jingdenzhen China. Was exhibited at Competitions and got mentioned Awards in 2021: Honorable Mention at Cheongju International Craft Competition, Martinsons Award at Latvia Ceramics Biennial. In 2020 Enrolled in the finals at Red Dot. In 2019 Finalist at Make me! competition at Lodz Design Festival

Divided form into 2 separate objects is creating mobile decoration. The piece can be assembled into many different variations.
Research
The idea of the Egg Vessels decoration objects was to create porcelain objects with two functions useful and decorative. The idea of the Egg Vessels was to create a Conversation piece with an interactive aspect. Designed with simplicity in mind from porcelain and inspired by the timeless egg shape. Kintsugi, Ferrari Red is a unique, one of the kind piece primarily inspired by the expressive brushstrokes of abstract expressionism and the history of the automobile.
