Unique Properties
This personal care series consists of a professional hair clipper, a hair trimmer, a reciprocating razor, and a triple head shaver, aiming to cater to professional grooming needs and daily home use. The high capacity batteries and fast charging design solve the problem that a grooming process is usually interrupted by low battery of tools. The ergonomic design paired with simple button layout improves ease of use.

Production Technology
The blades adopt diamond like carbon vacuum deposition technology to realize superior hardness and a lower coefficient of friction, so as to provide a smoother hair cutting and shaving experience for users. Such blades boast a longer lifespan, whereby users will not be bothered with frequent replacement, and the replacement cost is reduced accordingly.
Design Challenge
The challenge was to balance aesthetics, practicality, and friendliness to users. This product series uses the contrast between blue and gray, coupled with the hidden digital display, to create a modern and minimalist aesthetic, while the diagonal lines give a visually layered experience. The durable blades, simplified button layout, and lasting battery life contribute to a more comfortable user experience.
Project Duration
The product series was developed in April, 2023 in Shenzhen, and will be launched in April, 2024 in Africa.
Operation Flow
The high-capacity batteries and fast charging technology free users from the worry that a grooming process is suddenly interrupted due to low battery of tools. The signature diagonal lines on the surface not only enhance the brand recognition, but also ensure a comfortable grip. Moreover, the strategic positioning of the diagonal lines in relation to the buttons allows for effortless control with a simple downward finger movement.
Research
Grooming, such as hair cutting and shaving, is essential for maintaining health and establishing a personal image. Grooming tools that features ease of use and high quality can encourage users to regularly trim their hair and shave, which helps to reduce the bacterial accumulation on the scalp and facial skin to avoid potential skin problems. Therefore, this product series adopts the professional design to provide the high level of grooming service for both professionals and ordinary users.
Inspiration
The appearance design of this product series drew inspiration from ergonomics, aiming to achieve the goal of form following function. The products boast sleek contours and can perfectly fit the hand of users, which enhances comfort. The diagonal lines, as the signature design element, are subtly designed to coincide precisely with the natural position of the fingers of users, contributing to a comfortable grip and preventing accidental slips.
Project Overview
Oraimo Personal Care Series has been a Silver winner in the Beauty, Personal Care and Cosmetic Products Design award category in the year 2023 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition.
