House
Aperitio

House for Replus Co,Ltd

It is a house built on a site facing the Sea of Japan (Quasi-National Park Geopark) in the northern part of Tottori Prefecture. By making it a one-story wooden building, the eaves are kept low to blend in with the surrounding environment. This building emphasizes affinity with the external environment while staying indoors, as well as the surrounding environment of light, wind, sound, and scenery. The theme is to incorporate as much as possible. By keeping the exterior simple, a design that does not become too symbolic and does not get tired is created.

Unique Properties

It is a house built on a site facing the Sea of Japan (Quasi-National Park Geopark) in the northern part of Tottori Prefecture. By making it a one-story wooden building, the eaves are kept low so that it can blend in with the surrounding environment. This building emphasizes affinity with the external environment while staying indoors, and the surrounding environment of light, wind, sound, and scenery The theme is to incorporate as much as possible. By keeping the exterior simple, we tried to create a design that does not become too symbolic and does not get tired. The windy north face facing the sea is made of galvalume steel sheet, which is the same as the roof, to achieve both maintenance and design. The entrance door on the west side is set back from the exterior wall of the building to minimize the influence of the wind by considering the mounting direction. By providing many openings on the south side, sufficient lighting and ventilation are ensured, and it can be used as an integral part of the outside living room. The room has an excellent view of the south side. As a result, it was possible to feel the change of the four seasons on a daily basis, both indoors and outdoors. The roof gutter under the water on the south side is less to make the eaves look thinner. On rainy days, by making a water curtain according to the regularity of the roofing material (warp goby), The sound of rain weaves together to create a longing for rain. The out-living room on the south side seems to be continuous with the entrance approach. It is separated by glass, and it has both a sense of openness (a sense of escape) and crime prevention. Although it is a theory of architecture, with high side lights on the north side and large openings and deep eaves on the south side, The building is designed to blend in with the surrounding environment without being overdesigned.

Inspiration

People, objects, and space become one landscape. A villa-like residence filled with a sense of freedom, where you can relax and unwind from the fatigue of everyday life. The relationship between objects and space in Japan is centered on valuing harmony and building relationships that enhance the environment. Lateral thinking to appreciate the four seasons, the way materials are utilized and enclosed, these are messages that convey the difficulty and awe of coexisting with nature, and are a uniquely Japanese sense of nature.
