Production Technology
Quinton involved a combination of traditional craftsmanship and modern techniques. Custom mill-work and bespoke cabinetry were designed to reflect mid century details while ensuring modern functionality. Natural marble slabs were carefully sourced and meticulously installed to highlight their unique patterns, becoming key focal points in the design.
Design Challenge
One of the key challenges in Quinton was blending mid century design elements with modern functionality while preserving the home’s timeless charm. Sourcing unique natural marble with the right balance of pattern and color required extensive research and careful selection. Additionally, ensuring seamless integration of bespoke cabinetry and custom details demanded close collaboration with artisans and fabricators.
Project Duration
The project, based in Bandar Seri Coalfields, Sungai Buloh, Malaysia commence in December 2023 and completed in April 2024.
Operation Flow
Quinton is designed to offer a seamless flow between spaces, promoting both openness and functionality. The open-plan layout encourages natural movement, while strategically placed furniture and custom cabinetry define distinct zones without disrupting the overall harmony. Large windows bring in abundant natural light, enhancing the connection to the outdoors and creating a warm, inviting atmosphere.
Research
The research for Quinton revolved around blending mid century design with modern lifestyle requirements. The objective was to explore how the clean lines and organic forms of mid-century architecture could be adapted to suit contemporary living without losing their timeless appeal.
Inspiration
We were drawn to the clean lines, organic forms, and timeless appeal of mid century design, but aimed to give it a fresh twist with contemporary touches. The use of natural marble was central to the concept, chosen for its unique patterns and ability to add both luxury and character to the space. Our goal was to create a home that feels both elegant and inviting, a sanctuary that balances beauty and functionality, where every detail enhances the living experience.
