Residence for James Tu Interiors
This interior design integrates Vincent Callebaut concept of vertical ecology with Tao Zhu Gong Eastern philosophy to create a residence of refined modernity and spiritual balance. Guided by the idea of the garden as an extension of the spirit, spaces transition fluidly between public and private realms through adaptive furnishings and automated thresholds. Light, shadow, and greenery compose immersive spatial narratives that evoke serenity, transforming daily living into an experience of art, nature, and quiet luxury.

The interior unfolds from the tower elegant spiral geometry and cascading gardens, crafting a symphony of flowing lines and luminous depth. The foyer, corridors, and principal living spaces echo sculptural curvature, extending sight lines toward a panoramic terrace where light and landscape intertwine. Fluid contours define each moment, balancing grace and stillness, while crafted materials and soft radiance elevate daily movement into an artful journey through living space.
This project transcends conventional luxury frameworks, weaving Eastern philosophy and vertical garden principles into living domains, cultivating an experience where dwelling becomes spiritual garden. Circulation flows with flexibility, privacy and sociality interweave, transforming daily life into artistic expression.
The project was finalized in March, 2023, in Taipei, Taiwan.
The entrance foyer integrates movable furnishings and a sculptural bar counter, functioning as a social antechamber that accommodates events and direct supercar elevator access, embodying both flexibility and ceremonial grace. The gallery dining room unfolds within a cylindrical volume, where four arched automated doors in Silver Fox marble frame borrowed garden views, allowing space to drift through light, shadow, and greenery. The tea room, with adjustable faucets and extendable countertops, transforms with ease into a study or reception suite, balancing sociability and quiet refinement.
The design shapes life around the refined rhythm of its inhabitants, where public and private realms hold distinct roles yet flow in harmony. The entrance becomes both reception and threshold, while dining, living, and tea spaces unfold as scenes of graceful sociability. Bedrooms and dressing suites embrace intimacy, with a figure eight bathroom revealing panoramic views. Movable furnishings and automated partitions refine transitions, distilling artistry and grace into modern luxury.
Rooted in the belief that the garden is an extension of the spirit, the design fuses Vincent Callebaut vision of vertical ecology with Tao Zhu Gong Eastern philosophy, shaping a contemporary residence of transcendent luxury. Public and private domains unfold in fluid continuity through adaptive furnishings and automated thresholds. Light, shadow, and greenery weave immersive narratives of serenity, allowing residents to dwell within a living sanctuary of art, nature, and spiritual elevation.
