Production Technology
The product avoids environmentally harmful processes like traditional painting. The top surface of the robot, treated with the IMR process, achieves a 3D visual effect and a delicate texture while improving resistance to corrosion and scratches, perfectly balancing aesthetic appeal with practicality. The process also boasts excellent environmental sustainability, which generates no wastewater, exhaust gases, or waste materials, enabling truly green manufacturing.
Design Challenge
The challenge was enabling adaptation to diverse pool environments and cleaning needs. The robot, with the Beatbot AI 2.0 platform and the HybridSense AI Vision system, accurately identifies 40 types of debris. Combining camera based imaging with infrared and ultrasonic sensing, it actively searches for debris instead of simply traversing the area on a preset path. Dual bottom ultrasonic sensors help identify steps, edges, and shallow platforms, ensuring precise navigation across varying depths.
Project Duration
The project started in Suzhou in August 2025 and finished in January 2026. The product made its debut at CES in the United States in January 2026.
Operation Flow
The product pioneers an automatic filter cleaning system: once the robot is docked onto the station, an automatic cleaning cycle is completed in 3 minutes, eliminating manual maintenance. The station with a 22 liter dustbin can hold up to two full cleaning cycles per week for two months, complemented by the disposable dust bag, enhancing maintenance convenience and hygiene. It also supports voice control via common smart home assistants such as Google Home, Amazon Alexa, and Apple Siri.
Research
The product innovatively integrates an intelligent pool cleaning robot with a self cleaning station, avoiding frequent filter maintenance and achieving a one stop closed loop pool maintenance. With its powerful AI driven system, precise sensors, and ascending and descending patent, the robot effortlessly tackles various complex pool environments. It can also dispense a skin safe, eco friendly clarifier, achieving comprehensive coverage of the floor, walls, the waterline, and the water surface.
Inspiration
The standards for pool cleanliness are continuously rising. However, traditional cleaning products often suffer from limitations such as limited dustbin capacity, low cleaning efficiency, and poor adaptability to complex pool environments, which hinder the convenience and effectiveness of daily maintenance. In response, this product integrates AI driven cleaning capabilities with post cleaning maintenance functions, creating a convenient, efficient automatic cleaning system.
Project Overview
Beatbot Aqua Sense X Robots has been a Platinum winner in the Robotics, Automaton and Automation Design award category in the year 2025 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition.
