This project stands out for its innovative "Floating Island" elevated-platform design, offering an exclusive aerial private residence. The project utilizes cutting edge technologies in fresh air ventilation, humidity regulation, haze removal, and multi dimensional sound insulation. The design also employs dual effect filtration technologies for clean air and water, as well as smart home systems. Innovative construction methods, such as the elevated platform design, make it possible to optimize the use of scarce urban space while ensuring privacy, views, and a sustainable living environment.
The key challenge was creating a high end residence in Hangzhou's dense urban core while preserving views, privacy, and superior living standards. This required innovative architectural strategies and advanced system integration, including the "Floating Island" platform and six constant system. Strict regulations, scarce land resources, and technical constraints were resolved through integrated architectural and technological solutions.
The project started in April 2025 and finished in December 2025 in China.
The residence operates through an integrated smart home system, allowing residents to control various environmental settings like temperature, humidity, and air quality. The space transitions between residential and social areas seamlessly, with the intelligent design adapting to different living scenarios. The elevated platform "Floating Island" offers unparalleled views and privacy, while the comprehensive six constant system enhances overall comfort and convenience.
The research methodology involved studying existing urban residential models, advanced technologies, and user needs. Data was collected through architectural and environmental simulations, leading to innovations like the six constant living system and the Floating Island concept. The research results provided insights into integrating technology and comfort, impacting both high end residential design and urban planning.
Inspired by Hangzhou's rich cultural heritage and its evolving urban dynamics, the design draws on the city's historical connection with the Grand Canal and combines it with modern, cutting edge aesthetics. The blend of Eastern humanistic values and Western luxury elements reflects the city's unique identity. The technical inspiration stemmed from overcoming space limitations in the downtown core, leading to innovative architectural solutions such as the elevated platform "Floating Island."
