Unique Properties

The Kub is a distinctive hood that adapts to any space. Available in seven configurations (wall, island, suspended) and finishes in Black, White, and Stainless Steel, it offers flexible solutions with matching chimneys and wooden shelves. The brushless motor guarantees power and silence. With Connex, the Elica app, and voice assistants, it can be controlled remotely and communicates with the hob, enhancing the space with balance and character.

Production Technology

The creation of The Kub is the result of specific technologies and production methods for each material: from cutting to welding steel, from cutting wood to the careful assembly of each component. A precise and integrated process that guarantees quality, durability, and aesthetic excellence in every detail of the product.

Design Challenge

The challenge in designing The Kub was to connect it to certain Elica products, integrating them harmoniously without compromising their aesthetics or trivializing their design. Great care was also taken in choosing the finishes and combining the materials with the aim of creating a clean, high performance product that would be well balanced within the kitchen environment.

Project Duration

The project began in February 2024 and ended in October 2025; it will be exhibited at the Salone del Mobile in April 2026.

Operation Flow

Simple and intuitive to use, The Kub incorporates an innovation that makes all the difference: connectivity. It communicates directly with the hob, activating, adjusting the power, and switching off automatically according to use. It can also be controlled via voice assistant, making it a fully fledged part of the smart home ecosystem. Hidden technology, visible performance: powerful suction, high capture, and reduced noise.

Research

The research behind The Kub stems from the desire to bring a high-performance yet customizable product to kitchens. Customization is expressed in the choice of finishes (white, black, or stainless steel) and in the type of installation: suspended, island, or wall mounted. A versatile solution, designed to adapt to any space with style and functionality.

Inspiration

The idea for The Kub hood came from the desire to bring a product into the kitchen that was both aesthetically pleasing and functional. A functional design that interacts with contemporary spaces with rigor, balance, and authority. The high performance extraction system is designed to ensure high extraction capacity with low noise levels. Acoustic optimization allows you to cook, work, and converse in a comfortable environment without noise interference.

Project Overview

The Kub Extractor Hood has been a Silver winner in the Home Appliances Design award category in the year 2025 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition. The Silver A' Design Award celebrates top-tier designs that embody excellence and innovation. This award acknowledges creations that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also highly functional, reflecting the designer's deep understanding and skill. Silver A' Design Award recipients are recognized for their contribution to raising industry standards and advancing the practice of design. Their work often incorporates original innovations and elicits a strong emotional response, making a notable impact on the improvement of everyday life.
