Arc One is a lounge chair formed from a single bent sheet metal surface, eliminating welding or assembly. It reduces production complexity while enabling efficient stacking for storage and transport. The removable leather cushion is fixed with snap fasteners integrated into strap details. Its fluid form, shaped by a refined balance of geometry and fluidity, creates a modern, sophisticated, and timeless presence, adding a distinct sense of style to a wide range of interior environments.

Production Technology
The body is manufactured from sheet metal using only laser cutting and CNC bending processes. No welding or mechanical assembly is required. The cushion is separately produced with upholstered leather and designed to be attached onto the metal structure. The flat geometry enables efficient stacking for storage and transport.
Design Challenge
The main challenge was achieving structural strength, ergonomic comfort and visual balance using only one sheet metal surface. Precise form development and bending geometry were required to ensure stability and load performance while maintaining minimal material use and a clean industrial aesthetic.
Project Duration
The project started in October 2025 in Istanbul and was completed in February 2026. The design was developed as an independent individual project.
Operation Flow
The leather cushion can be easily placed, removed or replaced, allowing color changes and maintenance over time. The curved metal form provides ergonomic support while the cushion enhances comfort. Stackable metal bodies simplify storage, handling and transportation, improving operational efficiency.
Research
Type: Product efficiency, manufacturing and aesthetic design research. Objective: Reduce production cost and logistics volume through a single-piece structure while meeting aesthetic expectations and ensuring a timeless design language. Method: Form studies, bending solutions and stacking scenarios. Results showed reduced complexity, improved transport efficiency, and extended product lifespan through replaceable upholstery.
Inspiration
The design explores how maximum performance can be achieved with minimal material and simplified manufacturing. Inspired by a balance of structural clarity and refined geometry, the project translates these principles into a contemporary industrial context. A single continuous metal surface defines both form and function, while the contrast between metal and leather creates a warm yet precise seating experience.
