The card case has a beautiful design that showcases the unique and eco-friendly fish leather material. The concept of carry the scenery with you is elegantly portrayed through the use of fish leather to represent the sea waves and gradient leather to reflect the changing colors of the sky. The traditional Japanese bellows manufacturing technique of Fu-kin-machi is employed to create a sleek and easily insertable card case. The use of discarded fish skin as fish leather is an innovative and sustainable approach that contributes to reducing environmental waste.

Unique Properties
The concept is "Carry the scenery with you". The fish leather represents "the waves of the sea", while the gradient leather represents "the changing colours of the sky". The colour variations are named "L'ora blu (Blue Hour)" and "Il notturno (Night Scene)", with the sea and sky of each hour expressed in fish leather and gradient leather.

Production Technology
Fish leather made from discarded fish skin and gradient leather dyed in layers of colour one by one using dyes. In addition, the edges are beautifully finished with high strength by Leather Edge Creaser.
Design Challenge
After continually searching for a way to achieve a beautiful gradation and repeatedly making samples, we were finally able to create a gradation leather that we were satisfied with.
Project Duration
The project started in November 2021. Samples are completed in December 2022, with pre-orders starting in February 2023.
Operation Flow
Using the traditional Japanese bellows manufacturing technique of "Fu-kin-machi," we have created a thin, easy-to-insert business card case.
Research
By making effective use of fish skin as fish leather, which would otherwise have been thrown away, the company believes it is possible to reduce the burden on the environment. In addition, the design not only uses fish leather, but also makes use of the fish scale pattern.
Inspiration
When I was fishing before dawn and saw the blue hour landscape, I noticed that the scale pattern on the fish leather resembled ocean waves and came up with the idea of a leather item that represents the sea with fish leather and the sky with gradient leather.

Orizzonte 02 Card Case has been a Iron winner in the Fashion and Travel Accessories Design award category in the year 2022 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition.
