Table Lamp for Maytoni
Magic attracts people, and predictions of the future and netherworld especially. In search, people conduct spiritualistic sessions with a glass ball. Similar crystals were used in 2000 BC by Celtic druids. These items became the inspiration for the collection. Lamps look like levitating spirits. The LED is located in a base and throws its light up. It makes the gradient shade luminous and re-reflects the light down, creating a halo of light. Elements are put on each other. It helps avoid the unnecessary mounts. The name was inspired by the books of the founder of spiritualism; Allan Kardec.

The stylized silhouette of the classic table lamp resembles a magic ball or cast. Thanks to the lighting calculations of the light flux and the diffusing angle of the glass, the light flux from below makes the ceiling luminous. It is coated with gradient staining. And at the bottom of the lamp with help. Re-reflected light is created by aureole. The lamp feels airy and fantastic thanks to modern LED technology. And reminds of the magic of the past.

In order to create the image of the "magic ball," reprinted light was used. LED directs the light flux up and it fills the ceiling with light without wires and metal reinforcement. Next, the light flux is re-reflected from the gradient painted ceiling and directed down, creating an aura around the lamp. The lamp is arranged according to the principle of matryoshka. Glass elements are put on each other, without fasteners. Getting rid of visual noise. Strength is not lost by tight fit.
For the similitude of a magical levitating object, the designer studied the experience of subject designers. Therefore, it was decided to make a lamp out of transparent glass with a gradient, and a stylized silhouette of a classic table lamp. However, the light source moved down from the top of the lamp. And the principles of re-reflected light were used. First, it was necessary to use a lot of fasteners, but in the end the designer came up with the principle of matryoshka for putting on glass elements and got rid of them.
The project started in April 2023 in Moscow and finished in August 2023 in Moscow, and was exhibited in Interlight Russia 2023 in September 2023.
This luminaire collection has unique visual properties. The lamp resembles a levitating object, its upper ceiling is filled with light, although wires or metal reinforcement do not lead to it. It also feels airy thanks to a transparent silhouette of blown glass. And around the lamp, an aureole of light forms on the surface of the table. It can be used on the desktop, on the bedside table or decorate different areas of your home.
In search of an idea, the designer turned to the history of mysticism, to the experience of the ancient Celts in the British islands, and then to modern spiritualism, and the work of Allan Kardec. Thanks to him, in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the upper strata of the aristocracy, bourgeoisie and bohemians of Europe began to conduct spiritualistic sessions. I studied what they looked like. It turned out that they again began to use the "magic crystal" in the form of a glass ball. The modern image of flying drives has also spread.
Magic has always attracted people. The most sacred for us are predictions of the future and knowledge of the otherworld. Spiritualistic rituals have always inspired designers. The image of a glass ball in which you can see the future and through which you can communicate with spirits became the prototype of the collection. Similar magic crystals were used as early as 2000 BC. Druids of the ancient Celts. The title was inspired by the books of the founder of modern spiritualism, Allan Kardek.
