Production Technology
It innovatively uses a flame-retardant fabric of raw yarn that has a limiting oxygen index of up to 28%. It produces less smoke and doesn't give off harmful gases at high temperatures. Its flame retardancy is not affected by frequent washing and wear, making it safe for kids. It incorporates a far infrared heating function which, when combined with LITHERMO™ technology, boosts the thermal storage index by 30%, ensuring excellent warmth retention at low temperatures.
Design Challenge
Children's clothes on the market are typical of single function with less safety. Starting with the idea of protecting kids, we've carefully selected a windproof, waterproof, and flame-retardant fabric, and used a modular structure as well as multiple processes to dramatically enhance the product's warmth retention, flexibility, and comfort. Therefore, this product protects kids and can be used in multiple scenarios.
Project Duration
The project finished in September 2023 in Shanghai.
Operation Flow
The garment consists of an inner liner and an outer technical jacket that can be worn separately or together to create versatile outfits for different scenarios. Its 4:6 proportion is perfectly tailored to the body shape of children. It also has a new 18° arc sleeve design that allows kids to stretch freely. The outer layer is 3D printed with a reflective material to help keep kids safe at night.
Research
In order to protect kids during outdoor activities, the outer layer of this jacket is made from flame-retardant raw yarn, ensuring it doesn't catch fire immediately if they accidentally come into contact with an open flame. In addition, with 700+ FP premium duck down, far infrared thermal fabric, and LITHERMO™ technology, it can provide enough warmth for kids even in temperature fluctuations from minus 5 degrees Celsius to minus 10 degrees Celsius.
Inspiration
As people tend to go outdoors for parent-child activities, there is a need for clothing that is comfortable and protective for kids. This product adopts a modular structure and features wind resistance, water resistance, and heat retention, providing kids with a variety of cost-effective clothing options for their outdoor adventures. The flame-retardant fabric of raw yarn ensures it remains non-flammable when exposed to open fires, making it a reliable choice for kids' protection.
