The Cali glassware series, a creation by Officina Endorfino, blends personality with functionality. Its stackable design not only extends the product line but also subtly evokes the elegance of a chalice. The series features three distinct sizes, all crafted from borosilicate glass. This material allows for various color combinations and its unique properties create captivating reflections, playing with perceptions of volume, weight, and gravity. Additionally, the product packaging is made from recycled cardboard.

Unique Properties
Cali is a new tumbler collection redefining the traditional drinking glass. The elegant, modular design is stackable and there are three different sizes. The series is made from borosilicate glass using the properties of the material to create a reflection and a play on the perception and gravity. It allows for interesting colour combinations and ensures the drinks are at the centre of attention. Just look at this glass!

Production Technology
The Cali glassware series is made from borosilicate glass. The material is known for its strength, durability and temperature resistance. The glass can be moulded and crafted in a variety of very different shapes and thicknesses. It is an infinitely recyclable material that can be re-melted again and again minimizing waste and environmental impact. The packaging is made from recycled cardboard.
Design Challenge
The main challenge was the necessity to create a series of modular and stackable drinking glasses in different sizes that also explore the formal possibilities of the material and make a visual statement.
Project Duration
The project was designed in Italy during the summer of 2024 as a quick side study for Officina Endorfino. A free exploration and exercise in glassware design.

Research
The design process was based on conceptual and formal research aimed at understanding material properties and opportunities of the category. Product development and refinement through traditional sketching and 3D modelling.
Inspiration
Cali has a lot of personality and perfectly fits the identity of Officina Endorfino. The stackable design extends the product line naturally, while projecting its very own character. The shapes used merge the existing form language with a remote echo of an elegant chalice. The main body appears to be floating like a dream on top of the delicate but stable base. Cali dreaming.
Project Overview
Cali Drinking Glass has been a Platinum winner in the Bakeware, Tableware, Drinkware and Cookware Design award category in the year 2024 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition. The Platinum A' Design Award is recognized for honoring designs that stand at the forefront of creativity and innovation. It is the highest accolade bestowed by the A' Design Awards, acknowledging works that blend remarkable innovation with impactful societal contributions. These designs not only showcase exceptional artistic and technical proficiency but also highlight their creators' commitment to advancing the boundaries of art, science, design, and technology. Recipients of this award are celebrated for their role in shaping the aesthetics and trends of our time, contributing significantly to the enhancement of quality of life and promoting sustainable development.
