Label and packaging design for Blue Lagoon distillery, New Caledonia a small distillery of the islands, and their rum bottle, The Enchanted Forest. It is a uniquely crafted white rum characterized by gentle vanilla aromas, distilled from a variety of sugar cane produced by farmers in Southern Caledonia. The objective was to create a label design that conveys the quality of the brand and creates an emotional bond with the customers in a highly competitive market. The overall feeling of the packaging is about the intertwining of tradition and modernity.

It is a uniquely crafted white rum characterized by gentle vanilla aromas, distilled from a variety of sugar cane produced by farmers in southern Caledonia. The objective was to create a label design that brings to life the legendary and mysterious story of this uniquely crafted white spiced rum, in order to create an emotional bond with their customers.

Production Technology
Packaging Design, Brand Identity, Brand Creation Glass bottle. The cap is a wooden closure with bamboo. The labels were screen printed, with a combination of gold foil stamping on the neck.
Design Challenge
The experimental batch of rum is a new part of the production of Blue Lagoon distillery. It is not common for New Caledonia to produce rum, so we had to discuss a lot with our client as to understand the benefits and the specialty of this kind of rum, in order to provide a solution that attire the customer attention and help them to gain part of the already competitive market.
Project Duration
The project started in April 2020 and finished at the end of May, in Noumea, New Caledonia.
Operation Flow
It's a simple normal functioning alcoholic glass bottle. There's no special function to it.
Research
This design comes from a detailed observation of the manufacturer identification.
Inspiration
The inspiration came from the traditional beliefs and culture, of the local community of Kanak people, and their efforts related to environmental protection and conservation of the tropical forest and lagoon that surrounds the islands. The label design that we created takes people back in a time of discoveries, legends, and adventures. The bird living in the Enchanted Forest is a symbol of joy - a celebration of life. The color of the bottle reflects the blue shades of the famous lagoon that surrounds the Enchanted Forest and gives a sensation of freshness. Project Overview
The Enchanted Forest Packaging has been a Golden winner in the Packaging Design award category in the year 2020 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition. The Gold A' Design Award is granted to designs that demonstrate a high level of innovation and a significant impact on their intended audience. Recognized as a major achievement by the A' Design Awards, these designs are characterized by their visionary approach and the exceptional skill of their creators.
