Unique Properties

A set of flapicturesque voring tableware that makes food look like scenery. The common flavoring containers put together on the table, building a “village”. Integrating with other tableware, the plate forms a sight. As we lay out our food, we enjoy the way we build a city, creating a warmer and more enjoyable dining scene at the table.

Production Technology

The production of this set of products was completed in Jingdezhen. Jingdezhen has a millennium of ceramic culture and history. The material is made of high temperature and environmental protection porcelain. It is safe, nontoxic, environmentally healthy and can be placed in microwave oven. It is made of high quality clay,repaired and bonded, the body of which is dry and glazed. Finally, the product is made by burning.It collects Jingdezhen ceramic culture and traditional Chinese aesthetics.

Design Challenge

During the process of firing, many problems such as deformation and cracking needed to be solved. Deformation and cracking affected the RQP in production which meant that it was very difficult to use white clay in the process of molding. Finally, the clay with higher hardness was selected as raw material to make this plate.

Project Duration

This project started in August, 2018 in Macao，and finished in November, 2018 in Jingdezhen, China. It has not been exhibited yet.

Operation Flow

"Villages" is a set of removable ceramic suits seasoning bottles, which can be use in arbitrary combinations. With their wishes, users combine the bottles and define the service functions, for example , placing them on a plate or with ornamentation. We hope that the "village" scene can bring more warmth and joy to the users, which also ensures that the products adapt to changes in the way of life and never go out of style or will be in ordinary.

Research

The research involved a creation of functional Decorative Items that affective and playful environment with functionality, practicality and aesthetically as an approach. This project is set to better inherit and promote traditional Chinese culture. kiln chambers, and glaze institutes are frequented.Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Rhino3D NURBS, etc.are used for preliminary design and modelling. And the structure is simple, the shape is reasonable, and it is suitable for daily life,which are flexible and can be used in the modern food industry, to form a rich modeling.

Inspiration

"Villages" is a set of removable ceramic suits seasoning bottles, With their wishes, users combine the bottles and define the service functions, for example , placing them on a plate or with ornamentation. We hope that the "village" scene can bring more warmth and joy to the users, “Village” provides a more user-friendly and pleasant dining scene. Every time when users use it, they can gain a new and interesting operation experience and also a new emotional experience.
